Have just gotten back from History meeting.

Actually, I've been back for 30 minutes or so... we broke apart at midnight for heading-home purposes. But the fact remains that we were in Reese working on our presentation until midnight.... scary. Very scary.

But I get to be Stephen Douglas in the presentation tomorrow, which is going to be fun because I get to be CRAZY racist. I say the most ridiculous racist things. It's almost as fun as scaring people by talking about how beautiful pain and blood can be (I did a lot of that today... tee hee hee)

Harry Potter news: no Oliver Wood in the PoA movie. And Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Dan Radcliffe all have DISGUSTING hair right now. Unless ugliness is the current trend in male haircuts (with which I am unfamiliar, knowing as I do exactly one male each from Amherst, UMass and Hampshire).

I'm looking at the Hiroshima book. I'm really rather scared that I'm reading this this weekend. Yes, I'm only reading a third of it, but it's a *massive* book. I never really imagined that anyone ever read, or even bought books like this. It's the sort of anthology one expects to see on a bookstore shelf and nowhere else.

I also get to read Merchant of Venice this weekend. Which will be fun. And I've actually already started my history paper (aren't you proud of me?). I've got a page of notes so far. And it has caused me to start asking questions about polygamy. I have the sneaking suspicion that I'm writing a philosophy paper disguised as a history paper--I'm writing about whether the government has the right to dictate morals, and how it applies to the Lincoln/Douglas debates. Equally scary is the fact that I *could* be arguing that ending slavery was a bad thing.

The debate today was awesome. Go Douglae, Go Douglae (because it's only rational to refer to multiple Douglases as Douglae, obviously... the English language really is becoming a big joke).

James has ruined my "one paper a week" pattern. How silly of him. So the week of the 21st I'll be writing two philosophy papers... so adventurous.

I'm listening to JC Superstar. It's really awesome--I haven't listened to the whole thing in a really long time. Judas rocks my socks.

always hoped that I'd be an apostle
knew that I would make it if I tried
then when I retire I can write the gospels
so they'll still talk about us when we've died

To be fair I should mention that Jesus rocks my socks, too.
